Before any stalk commences, all members of the party head to the local rifle range and are required to prove they’re able to hit a target at 100m with the rifle to be used. Coaching is provided for novices.
Woodland stalks call for an early start – around daybreak – and last three to four hours. Going into the heart of the forest can be challenging, at the fringes is easier and often more productive, but a certain level of fitness is required. Evenings are also a good time to stalk (three-four hours).
When available, these stalks take place around the Cuillin Mountain range, offering some incredible views over Skye. Requiring a very good level of fitness hill stalks last all day.
