22nd to 24th November 2024
Kinloch Lodge is a building steeped in history and heritage. It was in the room that is now the bar that Clan Donald discussed whether to join Culloden, portraits of infamous ancestors line the walls of the dining and drawing rooms, and, framed, sat on the piano, is a letter from Sir Winston Churchill to Lord Macdonald, appointing him as Lord Lieutenant of Inverness-shire. Now, new for November 2024, we have partnered with Pol Roger, Churchill’s favourite Champagne house, to offer a small number of guests a very special and luxurious weekend on Skye. While guests might not get through the 42,000 bottles of Pol Roger Churchill is rumoured to have enjoyed in his lifetime, they will still be treated to superlative food, Pol Roger champagne and experience the Misty Isle at its quietest and most romantic.
Hosted by Pol Roger’s George Prideaux, guests will arrive on Friday evening for a special champagne and canape reception, before enjoying a dinner showcasing the seasons from Kinloch’s head chef, Jordan Webb. The following morning, after a Pol Roger Bucks Fizz at breakfast, we will hike out to Dunscaith Castle, for a picnic and champagne cocktails. Dunscaith is a dramatically situated ruined castle on an off-shore rock, and was once one of Clan Macdonald’s strongholds, and a site of many battles between its rival clans.
Refreshed and reinvigorated, we return to Kinloch Lodge, for a fire-side chat with Prideaux. He will reveal more of Pol Roger’s storied history, its connections to Churchill and some inside trade secrets too. That evening, there is a five-course tasting menu paired with Pol Roger Champagne, before a final Kinloch breakfast on the Sunday morning.
Price: from £750 per person, based on 2 people sharing a cosy double.
